Introduction

Knowing where to invest is a significant part of property investment. Although the Australian property market is strong, it is important to scrutinize which areas have the best growth potential and which areas suit your particular investment needs.

As we’ve mentioned in our first program, the Australian market is seen to be quite different from other international markets - this is underpinning strong long-term growth. Some reasons for this include:

  • Strong economy
  • High migration
  • Supply shortage

Additionally, even though the property market may experience periods of flat growth or may even lose some ground, the long-term prognosis is for overall growth of around 7% per year on average. It’s important to remember that different regions, cities and suburbs experience growth at different times, due to different local economic drivers.
